Viceroy Engagement Photos in Santa Monica Persian Wedding Nikki Bash By Aaroneye Photography

The Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica was the perfect backdrop for Nikki and Bash’s engagement shoot! The sleek, modern touches with some rough edges and cool artsy details creates a new kind of genre in engagement photography. Looking at the photos that we captured of this cool couple you can tell that it’s a ‘Viceroy Engagement’ and that’s a little different than what you’ll get shooting anywhere else.

As a photographer we’re always looking for fun details that provide interest behind the couple without stealing their glory. We found an artistic wall feature of hanging plates that we absolutely loved. The slate blue wall and interesting Dutch inspired blue painting on some of the plates matched Nikki’s dress and it looked like it was designed just for the couple! Another fun mosaic wall of framed mirrors had a similar effect and we loved getting to shoot in such an artsy location where the personalities of the soon-to-be bride and groom could shine.

Although we captured a lot of romantic, vibrant shots in the engagement shoot my absolute favorite pictures were those that we captured in the shadows. The lighting fell down the hallway with such elegance and I caught a photo coming around the corner to see the couple taking a quick moment away by themselves. As a photographer we’re supposed to capture the essence of the couple and I think that in their shadowed embrace you get a real feel for who there are: slightly reserved, loving, and always finding joy in each other’s arms. This stolen moment away in the beautiful, ornate hallway is truly a beautiful one. Check out Nikki & Basir’s Persian Wedding.
