BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Chino Hills Indian Wedding

On 5/30 Dipen and Bhumi officially became husband and wife while surrounded by the ones they hold dear to their hearts. In the days leading up to the wedding ceremony and reception, Bhumi along with her close friends and family members gathered to apply henna tattoos on their hands in accordance with the traditional Indian Mendhi. They also took part in the Pithi, which is a ceremony where the girls apply a yellow paste to the bride’s face in order to cleanse her and prepare her for her wedding day. This thick paste is made out of chickpea flour, tumeric, rose water and other natural ingredients.

When it came time for the wedding, Dipen was escorted to the venue by his family and friends in a convertible luxury car as part of the Baraat, while Bhumi and her girls got ready in the bridal suite. The bride wore a stunning red and gold saree and was adorned with multiple pieces of gorgeous gold jewelry. Her groom matched her in his red and gold sherwani and her bridesmaids stood out in bright pink and gold colored dresses.

The wedding was held at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir & Cultural Center, which is conveniently located in Chino Hills, California. This large event center is the perfect setting for traditional Hindu weddings as it offers everything a bride and groom could want including exceptional architecture, various temples and plenty of space. The intricately designed building and its lush grounds were a beautiful backdrop for Bhumi and Dipen’s wedding photos.
